Hi there. First, my apologies as I have tried every which a way to submit this to you. I get ajax errors on the forum and well, I ran out of options. I have no idea if you’ll even get this really, but, I’m hopeful
Let me just say, I’m amazed at the work you’ve put into tdo-tag-fixes, and I’ll be taking advantage of that on several client sites, and as such am assuming you may be able to help me figure something out that has really got me pulling my hair out.
Here goes:
1st – I am using some custom taxonomies on a site to break down different event types within a category, aptly titled ”events”. I can’t use the standard tags as my client is insane and likes to put ten million tags on every post, and I can’t use subcategories, again because my client is insane, and likes to make up random weird names for event types or just create new ones on the fly.
2nd – I need to use the netflies fatcloud code on this site instead of wp-tag-cloud as it’s flashy groovy and my client is all about that … no problem, it takes the same arguments as wp-tag-cloud, so
3rd – I have supplied my custom taxonomy as an array in the fatcloud arguments.
Voila – Groovy – except …
I would like when one of the tags in the cloud on the category page are clicked for it to return the same category archive page, filtered by the tag.
This is a function of tdo-tag-fixes. Alas, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to pull just this function from your code, box it up all standalone styley and incorporate it so that I am still able to call wp-FAT-cloud in the template (with my custom taxonomy array in it’s arguments) and have it have this function.
My my, that was long eh? I know it’s a lot to ask, but, if you have any advice at all it would be really appreciated. I have searched high and low for any info regarding redirecting tag links to a category archive etc., and have turned up nada. As a last resort, I will have to just duplicate the content from the category archive on custom tag archive pages, but, that would be sooo ugly no?
