You are welcome. I can’t imagine that a company such as 1and1, that in my opinion, treats its customers like enemies will survive.

I thought that maybe the CEO, Oliver Mauss, might not know what the billing, complaints and support departments are doing so I sent him a certified letter. It was signed for so I assume he got it. He did not reply. I sent another certified letter to him and regular letters to all the executives but the letters were returned “address unknown.” I think any letters with my return address were destined to be sent back. In my opinion this is not the ethics of a reputable company.

Thanks for the warning about 1and1 hosting! I don’t use them myself but a number of users of my plugin TDO Mini Forms do.

Its always good advice to check out your host provider if you can. With mine, I went on recommendations from friends and I even, indirectly, know someone working there so I have a much higher level of confidence of my host.

Be very careful before you choose a hosting company. I wish to God I had checked out 1and1′s reputation before I signed. Rather than bore you with my long fight with them just ask yourself why their phone is answered by a recording that tells you what to do if you have been contacted by NCO, a collection agency. If they are above board why do they have to send so many accounts to a collection agency? Also Investigative journalist, Kelli Jacks, has a suit pending against them. Kelli states: “1and1 should be shut down.”

And finally, the Pennsylvania Better Business Bureau has them listed as “Unsatisfactory” Read comments on the BBB why. Read some customer comments on Red Flag.
