It would be nice if TDO Forum would display stats similar to vBulletin. Maybe display the number of topics, posts, and registered users.

Do you mean on the theme itself or in some other format?

You can get that info from the WordPress admin UI:

“Topics” = number of posts
“posts” = number of comments

Yes on the theme itself. Like how vBulletin forums have stats at the bottom of the page (Threads: 6,000, Posts: 16,000, Members: 13,000). Instead of “Threads” it would be “Topics” and instead of “Members” it would be “Registered Users.”

It’s when a site is both a blog and a forum that’s a problem. For example, if you have 100 posts and 300 comments on your blog the forum stats should not count those as forum activity.

Does my explanation clarify things?

It depends on how you are seperating the blog posts/comments from the forum topics. I believe WordPress has template tags for displaying number of posts and comments but I don’t know if they support any sort of filters.
