WordPress Version: 2.7.1

TDO Mini Forms Version: 0.12.7

Operating System (if known): N/A

Webserver Software: N/A

Link to Website: http://

Error Message:
Error: Default author can publish posts. Default author should not be able to publish posts! Create a dummy user for default author automatically »

I tried installing and re-installing TDOMF with same error every time.

I looked everywhere but could not find a solution.

After a fresh install, I click create dummy user, and after that, a dummy user is created in the dropdown but with (Error) next to the new generated dummy user.

So it shows under General Options for TDOMF, Default Author, tdomf_4c3c5 (Error) in the drop down.

How can this issue be resolved ?

Thanks!

I’ll tell you the way I handled this for the purposes of our project, although I am sure there are other methods for rectifying it:

1. Go into the Users > Authors and Users section of your WP admin, and double check that the dummy user is listed in the “Users”.

2. Go into Users > Roles and create a NEW role – in my case, I just titled it TDOMF for easy distinction – and configure it to have ONLY “Read” permissions.

3. Go back into Users > Authors and change the role of the dummy user to that of “TDOMF”.

4. Go back into the TDOMF administration panels, and you should find the error message removed, so long as you have remembered to save your changes as you made them.

I’m getting the exact same error, but I haven’t been able to figure out how to get this fixed.

I used “user role editor” plugin to create a user role that has one setting “read” and “level 0″… this happens to be the same settings as “subscriber” but I was hoping for the best.

Then I created a dummy account within TDO mini forms, and it basically created a new user with (error) next to it and even if I go and change the roll, it doesn’t fix this.

It’s like “groundhogs day” around here, as I can’t find any way of fixing this problem.

I’m using WP 3.0, multisite & buddypress. I was trying to create a form to let subscribers submit press releases.

hi, i have the same error!

after instaled tdo, it ask me: create a dummy user but i get:
‘Catchable fatal error: Object of class WP_Error could not be converted to string in /home/derafael/public_html/wp-includes/formatting.php on line 2771′

next i use role-manager to create a ‘dummy’ (read only) role and then i create a ‘Dummy’ user with have a ‘dummy’ role, but after that, TDO form was enabled to get one dummy user.

i hope you have a little minute to check this!

best regards, pescadito

I would love to use this plugin too, but in WP 3 multisite, I get the same error as above.

Does not show any of the users I added to choose for a dummy author too,

No support either? Too bad, I really wished this plugin worked.

Anybody knows another good plugin that actually works?

I want to set up an interface for people to be able to submit their writing.

I just downloaded the plugin and got this error too guys…

Fixed it via..

1. Download “user role editor” plugin…

2. Create new role called whatever and only tick the read box on the following page.. no level or anything..

3. Go to users and set the error user as this role.

Should work!
