You can use this script to figure out the costs for creating an Enchanted Device. It's worth being
familiar with the original book before proceeding. For the moment Tailsmans and multiple
effects are ignored. This uses AJAX so values are updated automatically, reloading will lose your
current values.
Basic Values
Your Lab Total + Aura must be greater than the level of the effect you wish to invest.
To calculate your Lab Total prefer to the Ars Magica core book.
The amount of Vis you can use is limited by your Magic Theory + Vim score (and thus limits the effect level).
Material and Size Bonus
The material and size that your device is composed of, affect the amount of
initial Vim vis you need to enchant (i.e. prepare) your device. For
Lesser Enchanted Devices, this also limits the amount of vis you can invested
in the effect and therefore limits the level of the effect.
Form Effect Bonus
You can gain a bonus to your lab total if you use a form for your device that
compliments your effect. I haven't included the list from the main book
here because it is simply too long. Please refer to the book for
a form bonus if applicable.
