Did it. Done it. And you shouldn’t have noticed anything, unless you happened to be gawking at thedeadone.net on Saturday 4pm. I had setup a duplicate of my website, did a test upgrade, so I knew exactly the problems I encountered, which were really only one, once I had gone through all the modifications required [...]

Created from scratch and all sparkling original web2.0 stuff. Yep. Been working on it slowly for a while now. Of course if your reading this post somewhere else than thedeadone.net, you won’t notice a difference. That’s why I’ve included lots of images in this post. (Now if your feed reader removes images well get a [...]

Since my foray into LiveJournal, I’ve started writing more for my website (which is more and more becoming like some sort of blog). I setup WordPress to put all comments in moderation to prevent defacing my site… that led to getting 50 or so emails a week (and sometimes a day) about comments awaiting moderation. Real comments, though far and few between, were being swamped to the point [...]

WordPress 2.0 has been released! Did anyone notice? I’ve upgrade my site(s) though it took longer than usual. For installing/upgrading on Redbrick, see the Redbrick wiki article “Installing WordPress on Redbrick”. I also had to debug and update the themes for all my sites. That was a pain. The interface in WP2.0 is all AJAX [...]

I only just noticed that WordPress 1.5.2 has been released. Took, oh, about 30 minutes to upgrade this site, that site and an other site. Also, MediaWiki 1.4.12 was released last week. Took another 30 minutes to upgrade that site and that one of there. ’tis important to keep web software up to date otherwise [...]
