I’ve been toiling away on TDO Mini Forms for a while, but I’m finding it hard to get a big stretch of time to work on it. So work is done in bits and pieces and I’ve had to priorities what work is done. Right now I have a long list of bugs and other features to be implemented because of being concentrating on getting Post (and Page) editing implemented.
It’s still a long way to go, however the core work is done. I can create forms that allow you edit posts and to moderate edits. It should work with Akismet, much like submissions do, but I haven’t yet tested that part of the code. The Form Options screen has been updated and the Moderation screen is much more WordPress 2.7 now. Still there is a lot of work to do and even when I have it basically finished (and release it), I’ll still have tons more to do. The admin UI is still in a transitionally design between WordPress 2.5 and 2.7 look and feel and most of the other widgets will incrementally get added to the editing feature.
However, to wet your appetite, here are some screen shots of the moderation screen and edit form:
I’m really looking forward to this! In fact, I found this post tonight (day of post) as I was doing a search to find out if this feature was available for TDO mini forms.
This is going to be amazing. I’m so excited for this update!!
I bit the bullet and uploaded this plugin to my main site. If you will remember im the one who first got your Christmas gift and lost a big chunk of my data because of the Windows host issue.
I wanted to update to say i have the plugin running on my site and it is working very nicely for the moment. Thank you so very much for all your hard work, and for fixing that issue. The plugin is exactly what i needed and im very grateful!
Blessings!
Hi Andrew and Savesheep, thanks for the encouragement. I’m also looking forward to releasing it! But I want to release it when’s it ready, not before.
Hi brolance, your welcome. I’m glad the issue is gone for you and best of luck with you’re site!
Hey Mark - I’m actually trying to get in touch with you. Any way you can shoot me an email?
Thanks!
Hey Mark,
Just a quick note to say you’re a star! About a month ago I was literally a couple hours away from embarking on a plugin that would let me edit posts on the front end.
While I was scouting to see if there were any plugins that I could use to base the code on I remembered TDO mini forms and thought I’d take a look at how it was coming along, and lo and behold there I read about your intention to include post editing!
When I read that I halted my quest to write the plugin myself and have been checking back regularly, your screenshots are thrilling to me (I know, geek!)
I’ve dropped a small donation as my way of thanks for saving me HOURS and also as encouragement, I know how frustrating it can be to work on a project part time bit by bit. Sorry I couldn’t donate but hope it helps.
Cheers!
DyasonHat.
Totally looking forward to this!
The perfect addition to your plugin.
I too was about to try and make this modification my self, but I keep checking back here. Would better to see yours done and have it be future proof then to hack something together only to blow it up when you do another update
You’ll be gettin a donation from me for sure.
Hello Mark,
I’m wondering something. I want to make “team” profile pages. I want each member of the crew to be able to update his/her status. Can this be done? Seems maybe a certain type of post with a tag (e.g. nameStatus) would work. The latest post with that tag would appear on that person’s profile.
Is it possible to have it so that only that user can permission to use the form? This would be amazing!
Here’s a great place to check out what kind of feature i’m looking to have:
Go to http://www.myberrics.com and take a few mintues to create a bogus account. Then on your profile page, you’ll notice you can edit your status live without reloading the page, using AJAX.
I’d like each of my crew to have his own editable status. Also, I’d like each one to have their own blog. Can I use TDO mini forms to do this? (especially for the updateable status, and maybe blog posts can be sorted using a different tag, and the form will only appear for that user.)
Looking forward to hearing from you! Laterrrr!
